After a long summer of prep races, some with and without fans due to Covid-19 the Horse Racing Championships are finally here as we are now in the moments before the Breeders Cup. Kicking off a fabulous 2 days of racing will be the day of the Juveniles on Friday November 6, the first race being Race 6, the Juvenile Turf Sprint at 5 1/2 Furlongs. Below I will give out my Top Selection, along with 2 Longshots I hope to bet and cash in on come race day.
Shaping up to be a 14 horse field, with a lot of talented youth for this sprint. Four of these horses are shipping in from overseas, and Six of these horse are trained by Wesley Ward. Ward looks like to have the morning line favorite when the odds are revealed in Golden Pal a son of Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie). However it's the Breeders Cup and anything can happen in the richest day in racing.
Top Pick
Bodenheimer
Trainer: Valorie Lund
Owned: Kristin Boice & Marylou Holden
4-3 Lifetime with $141,000 Earnings

Won Indian Summer Stakes 150k @ Keeneland
5th in Juvenile Turf Sprint 500k @ Kentucky Downs
Won Prairie Gold Juvenile Stakes 50k @ Prairie Meadows
Won Maiden 24k @ Canterbury Park
Won last race with a 96 speed figure. Rode the rail inside and kicked clear at the 1/4 pole. Bodenheimer could set the pace with the early speed and try to wire the field again on this familiar Turf course. One negative is that Bodenheimer has race against similar company and struggled. Hopefully connections have this horse in the right form and has a positive of racing on this Turf before.
LongShot Pick
Second of July
Trainer: Philip Gleaves

Owned: Bryan Hilliard
2-2 Lifetime $89,000 Earnings
Won Grade 3 Futurity @ Belmont
Won Maiden 63k @ Belmont
Lightly raced son of Jack Milton (War Front) and Wichita (Curlin). Seems to be a late runner and if the pace is not too fast should have a great trip. Could be a 20-1 or higher odds come post time. Would have to improve a lot from last out and against this class. However horses off the pace on Turf always sounds good.
