Tiz The Law Wins Belmont Stakes; Gamine Dominates Acorn

In a typical year fans would be drinking Belmont Jewels and showing off their fancy attires and wagering loads of money on the end of a Triple Crown circuit. Would there have been a Triple Crown contender for the fans to cheer on? We will have to wait till next year as COVID-19 has turned the Horse Racing schedule upside down and fan-less at the tracks. This year the Belmont Stakes was ran first and was ran without fans and owners in attendance. The card was filled with Stakes action as 6 races were stakes races.

Woody Stephens

The Woody Stephens was the 2nd race to start the day and was loaded with star talent; No Parole, Mischievous Alex, Echo Town, Shoplifted and Meru. No Parole would break out the gate first and would end up wiring the competition by close to 2 lengths in a final time of 1:21:41. RACE REPLAY

Acorn Stakes

Next was the race for the Fillies and now possible Kentucky Oaks contenders. This race will be a raced that is talked about for awhile as the track record for the Acorn was broken by a daughter of Into Mischief, Gamine wired the field and won by an astounding 18 lengths and set the new record of 1:32:55 and received a speed figure of 110. Watch out for this filly heading to the Kentucky Oaks, it will be a great showdown between her and Swiss Skydiver. RACE REPLAY

Belmont Stakes

The Finale, so to speak was the Belmont Stakes. In a year with chaos the Belmont is typically ran at a mile and a half but this year they felt the need to shorten the distance to a mile and an eighth. With 10 runners it seemed about an average field size for a typical Belmont Stakes race, however no Triple Crown was on the line. As the morning line favorite, Tiz The Law would also go of as the post time favorite and seemed to be the betting publics top pick. Like his running style favors Jockey, Manny Franco hustled Tiz the Law out of the gate and set

2nd-3rd most of the race, behind 2nd choice Tap It To Won and Long shot Fore Left. Like hes done in his races past Tiz The Law was able to keep stride with the leaders and easily pass them down the stretch to win the 152nd Belmont Stakes, followed by Dr. Post (2nd) and Maxplayer (3rd) in 1:46:53.
